The Rev. Dr. Ian Manson, born in Winnipeg, grew up on a farm in S. Manitoba. He earned history degrees from University of Manitoba and worked in the Liberal cabinet minister Lloyd Axworthy’s office. Ian has spent 19 years in pastoral ministry -10 in Manitoba and 9 at RoyalYork Road. His responsibilities in a team ministry were preaching and pastoral care. A born teacher, he researches and leads stimulating study sessions. He is passionate about ‘preaching, politics, drama, history, hiking and travel. One of his references said “Ian is a superb preacher who gets along with everyone. He has a passion that the United Church and individual congregations survive.”

Wishing Well Players Dinner Theatre 2012

Dates:  Saturday, March 24, Friday, March 30, Saturday, March 31.

Time:  Dinner 6:30 pm.  Play:  8:00 pm

This year we will be returning to a delicious roast beef dinner.  The cost is $30.00 per person for dinner and a one act play.

The play is a mystery/comedy called "Murder at the Grey's Hound Mansion" written by Maxine Holmgren. The eccentric owner of Grey's Hound Mansion has been murdered.  A small group of people gather at the gloomy mansion for the reading of the will.  Each one is a suspect and they all suspect each other.  They will keep the audience guessing until the mystery is solved!

Director of Music - Kelly Galbraith

KELLY GALBRAITH, who was our music director in the late 80s has joined us once again to lead our music programme.  She is a Music Producer for CBC producing programmes on Radio One, Two, and Sirius as well as Galaxie, and new media platforms.  She is the artistic director and founder of Cantores Celestes Women's Choir,  the conductor of the mixed voice Manulife Financial Choir and the first ever conductor of the CBC Complaints Choir.  Kelly was the guest conductor for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir's 2011 Singsation.  Kelly has been the music director of various churches in Toronto, leading senior, junior and cherub choirs.  She looks forward to making music with all ages and talents at St. John's United Church.
